November 27th-29th Christmas Wonderland OPEN! Open from 6-10pm on Friday & Saturday Nights starting Thanksgiving until Christmas! Located just a block off of Exit 184 on I-70 - behind Subway, Follow the Lights! The admission is FREE to Christmas Wonderland but some activities do have a fee! Bring your entire family and enjoy thousands of lights, animated light displays, and a playground for children. Climb aboard the forty foot Christmas Wonderland Express, or let them capture a priceless photo with Santa! Children even have the chance to feed "Dancer" and "Prancer", Santa's Reindeer! Visit Suzy's Sweet Shop and enjoy hot cocoa, apple cider, or a sweet treat. Enjoy shopping their huge Christmas Wonderland store, which offers over 5,000 square feet, packed full of thousands of lights, holiday ornaments and decor, and well over 50 decorated trees!

November 28th- Plaid Friday!! Starting at 10am at Encore Antiques. Ten Russell Retailers are participating in Plaid Friday! Stop by Encore Antiques at 10am to pick up your free treat bag provided by the Russell County Eco Devo & CVB Office and a list of the participating businesses! Each store will have a different special! Support locally owned stores! Shop small, Shop local, and Shop Plaid!

November 29th- Main Street Mile for Meals!! 11:30am at the Russell County Courthouse in Downtown Russell. The Main street Mile is a flat and fast course with no hill! Entry fee is $20/competitor, plus each runner needs to bring two cans of non - perishable food items. These canned items will be donated to the Russell Food Pantry. Come dressed up in your favorite Holiday Attire! There will be prizes for the top male and female and the "Best Dressed" person! November 29th- Lighted Christmas Parade! Starting at 7:15 in Downtown Russell! The theme this year is "A Christmas Wish List". Russell Main Street welcomes all youth groups, civic organizations, and businesses, including farm and oilfield equipment. All you need is a parade entry with lights. Parade check in is at 5:30pm to 6:30pm at the RHS West Parking lot. Judging will begin at 6pm. Line up will start at 6:30pm. For questions, please contact Russell Main Street at 785.483.2897

November 29th- Letters to Santa!! Following the Lighted Christmas Parade at the Russell Public Library! Come warm up with us and make some memories with your family!! There will be Christmas music, hot chocolate, coffee, cider, and delcious Christmas treats for all! Tables will be set up for the kids to write letters to Santa. They can deposit them in our special North Pole Post mailbox and even get a reply from the Big Guy, himself!

November 30th- Striking out Cancer Baker Doubles Tournament Fundraiser! Starting at 10am at Playdium Bowl in Russell! Two squads at 10am and 1pm. 5 games of qualifying across 10 lanes. Teams may consist of 2males/2 females or mixed. Entry fee is $80. For more information, please call 785-445-4105

December 1st- Russell Community Blood Drive!! Starting at 12pm-6pm at Fossil Creek Inn & Suites! Come donate blood in honor of Helen Anschutz! Walk-ins welcomed or call 1-800-RED-CROSS to schedule an appointment.
